Mr Sherif Hakky
Bariatric Surgeon. MBBCH (Hons), MSC, MRCS, MD, FRCS
Sherif Hakky is a graduate of the prestigious Kasr Al Ainy Medical College at Cairo University and descends from a family of surgeons in Cairo. He has trained and worked in Egypt in the biggest hospital in the Middle East. His area of focus was laparoscopic (key hole) surgery and has later developed a particular interest in bariatric surgery.
Mr Hakky then became the fellow at Imperial Weight Center where he was mentored by Mr Ahmed Ahmed. Since January 2009 he completed three years exclusive extra training in bariatric surgery as well as managing all aspects of care before and after surgery locally in London and abroad in the Gulf states. He has operated 3-4 days a week for several years delivering excellent results at NHS and private hospitals in London. He was involved in more than 1000 bariatric procedures.
He currently works as a Consultant of Bariatric Surgery at Imperial Weight Centre. He is mainly interested in the laparoscopic gastric bypass, the sleeve gastrectomy and the laparoscopic gastric band procedures. Since specialising in bariatric surgery, he managed to present the teams work in every ASMBS ( American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgey) and IFSO (International Federation for the study of Obesity) international meetings.
Sherif is fully bilingual in Arabic and English so he leads the Cairo services. If you wish to meet with him there for an appointment then this must be booked in advance.
